Description
A hot air balloon ride over Chianti starts at dawn, as the Tuscan landscape slowly picks up the first rays of the sun. The flight itself lasts an hour, but the whole experience takes about three, since it includes the setup and the celebration afterwards.
Before you climb in, you watch the balloon take shape. The crew fills it with hot air in front of you, and anyone who wants to can lend a hand with part of the assembly while the pilots supervise, a job children enjoy. In the basket you get a safety briefing and the instructions for flight and landing.
The pilot flies low at first so you can settle into the air, then climbs little by little to 900 metres. Below you spread hills lined with vines and olive trees, and medieval villages sit among them. On the way down, look out for deer, wild boar, pheasants or hares.

The company has flown for 25 years and stays small on purpose. Dress in layers. The flight depends on the weather and is confirmed the evening before; if it is cancelled, you are refunded in full. Pregnant women, guests with heart problems and anyone who fears heights should not book.
