Description
A wine tasting in Radda in Chianti puts you in the heart of Chianti Classico, among rows of Sangiovese and with the medieval old town in view from the winery. The hour begins with a guided visit that traces how the wine is made, from fermentation to ageing.
You pass through the winemaking area and into the barrel room, where the wine spends time in wood and gains structure, and you hear how time in the bottle polishes the result. The guides also talk about local history, the Sangiovese grape and what makes Chianti Classico its own.
The visit ends with a guided tasting of four labels:
- Granbruno, a Toscana IGT wine
- a Chianti Classico DOCG
- a Riserva of the same appellation, aged for longer
- a Vermouth Rosato
The vermouth is the surprise of the lineup, a rosé take that mixes tradition with a touch of creativity. Extra drinks are not included. The tour is offered in English and Italian, and it is not open to children under 18.
