Description
A Chianti Classico tasting is best when the owners themselves show you the estate. At this organic winery near Greve in Chianti, you are greeted on the square outside the winery and taken round by the owners or their staff, and you hear the story of the Baldini family who run the place.
Before the glasses are filled, the visit explains the grape varieties grown, how the wine is made, how it rests in oak barrels from different places and in Tuscan terracotta, and how the extra virgin olive oil is produced.
Then you taste four wines on covered outdoor terraces among vineyards and olive groves. They come with platters of cured meats, cheese and crostini, and all the products are organic. If the weather turns, the tasting moves indoors.
- Guided visit and tasting of four organic wines
