Description
The Il Molino di Grace wine tasting is a one-hour visit to an estate in Panzano, in the Chianti hills near Greve in Chianti. A guide takes you through the vineyard, weather permitting, and talks about the estate's history, the grapes grown and the character of the soil and climate. You also hear about the challenges of farming vines and the sustainable practices behind the wines.
The visit continues indoors, in the winemaking room and the barrel ageing room. The guide explains fermentation, ageing and bottling, and you see the tanks and barrels where the wines mature.
You then sit down for a guided tasting of four wines made at the estate. A sommelier or guide gives the story behind each wine, so you learn about its aromas and flavour as you taste. Extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar are also tasted.
