Description
This Montalcino winery tour with wine tasting begins outdoors, with a walk through the vineyards of the Corte Pavone estate. The guide explains the winemaking philosophy, the biodynamic approach to the vines and how the land shapes what ends up in the glass, and you can ask anything about Tuscan wine along the way.
Next comes the area where grapes are processed and the cross-vaulted cellar. Here you learn why wine ages differently in wooden barrels than in amphora. The whole visit takes about 105 minutes.
Then you sit down, in the tasting room or on the terrace, for six wines in three flights. A short introduction opens each flight and then you taste at your own pace. You pick one of four tastings:
- Dynamic Brunello Cru, six Brunello wines from different single vineyards
- Signature Corte Pavone, the range from sparkling to Brunello Riserva, all from Sangiovese
- Maremma and Montalcino, wines from two estates about 70 kilometres apart
- Signature Valdifalco, six wines of the Maremma
The visit, the cellar tour, the tasting and water are included. The tour is not suitable for pregnant women.
