Description
This e-bike tour to Monteriggioni is a loop of about 32 km that starts in the Colle Val d'Elsa area and winds through the Val d'Elsa hills at your own pace. After booking you collect your bike at the rental point, then the app takes over with step-by-step navigation and voice guidance.
The route alternates quiet paved roads with firm dirt tracks, passing fields, rows of vines and tiny hamlets. The elevation gain is moderate and the pedal assist makes the climbs manageable, with easy descents in between. Then the walls and towers of Monteriggioni appear suddenly among the hills. Stop in the fortified village to take in the atmosphere and one of the best-known views along the Via Francigena.

You need your own smartphone and an internet connection to download the app and audio before you set off, and comfortable shoes. Some confidence on mixed surfaces helps, but extreme fitness is not required. Food, drinks and extras such as insurance are not included, and the loop takes around four hours.
