Description
An easy 26 km loop through vineyards and olive groves with views of San Gimignano. Includes a possible stop in Poggio Alloro for food tasting and a wine cellar visit.
A scenic loop tour departing from San Gimignano, along urban roads, dirt roads, vineyards, and rows of olive trees with a continuous view of the famous medieval towers.
The 26 km route with 500 m of elevation gain is smooth and free of technical sections: ideal for e-bikes and suitable for cyclists of all levels, it requires only a minimum of confidence on dirt roads and a few short climbs.
Along the route, there is a stop at Fattoria Poggio Alloro, a farm with a spectacular view of San Gimignano, where you can stop for a snack or end the tour with a wine tasting and a visit to the winery.
Founded as a medieval village along the Via Francigena, San Gimignano is famous for its towers: in the 14th century there were over 70, while today 14 remain, which have earned it UNESCO recognition as an outstanding example of a well-preserved walled city.
