Description
This Chianti wine tour from Siena gives you a taste of the hills in about five hours, with a live guide. The road leaves the city for rolling vineyards and avenues of cypress trees, the scenery most people picture when they think of Tuscany.
The first walk is in Castellina in Chianti, where the guide shows you the streets of the old town. After that the tour goes to the wine itself. You visit two wineries in the Chianti Classico area and taste wines at both, learning how a blend based on Sangiovese gives Chianti its ruby colour and violet aroma. One of the stops adds an extra virgin olive oil tasting, a good chance to compare oil and wine from the same land.

Between stops there are ancient churches, medieval castles and small villages to spot from the road, and the cypress lanes are made for photos.
