Description
For a dinner in an Etruscan cave in Siena, you are taken to the Casa Tua restaurant, in the central part of the city and easy to reach on foot. You pick the day and the time, and the cave is yours alone for lunch or dinner. The light is low, and bottles aged over the years surround the table.
The menu is Tuscan and follows the seasons, with ingredients picked by the chef, many from local producers. Each course arrives with a wine described and served by your sommelier:
- Appetizer: a local gota cotta dish with hazelnuts and mushroom, matched with a Chianti Classico
- First course: pici with cacio e pepe and braised wild boar
- Main course: Cinta Senese roulades stuffed with Pienza cheese, with a Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
- Dessert: millefeuille with Chantilly cream and berries, with a Vin Santo
Water and coffee are served too. The experience lasts about two hours and is also suitable for people with celiac disease, and a high chair is available for children. It is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments. Private transport can be arranged on request with an extra charge.
