Truffle Hunt, Poggio ai Laghi Tasting and Tuscan Lunch

A truffle hunt and lunch in Tuscany, from the woods to the table in about three hours. You head into the woods behind a truffle hunter and a trained dog, and see how the search works: the movements, the timing, the secrets of one of the region's traditions.

Then a wine expert guides a tasting of wines, oils and vinegars from Poggio ai Laghi, an estate near Monteriggioni in the Chianti hills. Along the way you hear a legend: Donna Ava and the handmaids who stand behind each label of the collection.

Lunch is a full Tuscan meal, shaped around the truffle:

• to start, a pecorino flan topped with fresh truffle
• tagliolini with truffle as the pasta
• sliced beef with more truffle, served with roast potatoes
• cantuccini and Vin Santo to close

Dress for a woodland walk. Tell the guide beforehand if you have allergies, a special diet or trouble walking. Transport to the estate and tips are not included.
